Smoking during Pregnancy
SMOKING IS ANOTHER DIASTER TO YOUR UNBORN BABY.
HOW MUCH EVER YOU ARE ADDICTED TO SMOKING.
It is time to say good bye to burn up your desires for your new baby to come. your unborn baby smokes with you and toxins such as nicotine and carbon monoxide travels to him/her too.
- Remember that the cigarette smoke can cross the placenta resulting in the baby being exposed to a much higher concentration of nicotine than the mother. This may also lead to withdrawal symptoms in the baby after birth.
- Tobacco smoke contains harmful substances like nicotine, carbon monoxide, hydrogen cyanide, tars, resins, and also some cancer causing agents. This may damage your growing baby.
- Smoking also interferes with absorption of vitamin B, vitamin C and folic acid which may lead to neural tube defects in the baby.
- Smoking also leads to decreased nourishment in the fetus leading to intrauterine growth reduction and a small weight baby.
It also leads to low IQ and minimum brain damage in the fetus
